Single-minded to the point of near seclusion, Harp Evans’ only goal was to move away from her abusive mother, and start a new life at college. Now a freshman at a prestigious university, Harp continues to struggle letting people in, including her ex-boyfriend—Connor Williams—who has always stood by her, especially after her mother exposed a devastating secret about Harp’s origin.
While Harp figures out how to navigate her relationships, especially with her mom, Anne, she will have to exorcize her own demons and face challenges with uncompromising courage, including reuniting her broken family—the family that was shattered by the acts of one man.
After almost twenty years, is it possible for people to change their minds and open their hearts? More importantly, is Harp strong enough to pull them all back together

Finally! A happy ending! I've been through so much emotional roller coaster with the characters in this series. Harp totally deserve a happy end. So does her mother, and every other protagonists. The first book was so painful I practically curled and weep.
The writing style is still as awesome as before. Love the plot! I was confused though, at first. I'm not sure where we starts off. If it's months, years, or exactly after the first book left off. But that doesn't budge my love for this duology. Kinda disappointed how Connor suddenly became an "ex-boyfriend" to Harp but no worries H&C shippers (totally made that one up, what do you think?), there's this thing called "The power of true love" (romantic much?). Because seriously, Connor is like the perfect guy, it would be stupid to give him up.
Did you know that feeling parents usually felt looking at their children grow? I kinda felt it while I was reading this. I totally enjoy watching the characters grow. Love them all! I can't believe I have to say goodbye. One of the most interesting books I've read this month! recommended!
P.S. Thank you so much to Cassie Shine for sending me an arc! love it so much!
